About ATI
Out of the classroom and onto the web!

When online training first emerged a decade ago, few companies outside the field of IT recognized the potential power of this versatile tool. Viewed by many as a novelty or perhaps a technology for which widespread adoption was well in the future, most organizations preferred to stick with their three-ring binders, chalkboards, and fluorescent-lit classrooms. Today, it's a whole different story.

John Chambers, CEO of Cisco Systems Inc., the network hardware manufacturer, recently observed: "The next big killer application for the Internet is going to be education. Education over the Internet is going to be so big it’s going to make e-mail usage look like a rounding error."

Classroom InstructorSince 1998, ATI and its founder, Tom Donaldson, have been providing the highest quality training for pool professionals available anywhere.

During that time we have been focused on eventually offering our training as distance learning courses over the web.

We have always believed that the delivery of professional training must be improved to optimize the industry’s goal of safe and healthy pool/spa environments.

This objective received substantial additional support when a 2003 CDC report called for better training for pool operators. Thus, the industry needs to offer better job certification training to operators.

In the November/December 2003 issue of Aquatics International Kevin M. Johnston, M.S., and Michael Kinzinger, PhD, wrote “a number of barriers exist for not only operators, but also owners of pools that should have certified operators. One of the hurdles is the lack of funding. The courses require operators to attend class for one to two days. This can easily turn into a four day commitment, especially if travel is involved to get to a training location. Thus, the industry tneeds to offer better job delivery certification training to operators.”

They went on to say ”...administrators may have reservations about training an operator if they turn the position over once a season….but as the CDC survey and our study show, that investment needs to be made to ensure safe pools”

Now, for the first time, this important training is available online thru ATI’s innovative and exciting new programs.
